BROKEN SOULS

Some adults may appear to have their lives completely under control, but deep down they carry the pain and sadness of a wounded child. Past traumas from their youth continue to haunt them, leaving lasting scars on their emotional well-being.

Letting go of past traumas can be a challenging journey, and those who have never experienced them may offer unhelpful advice to simply "forget about it."

It's important to remember that those who suggest moving on from past traumas are not necessarily bad people; they may simply have a healthy outlook on life and want to help you heal and move forward.

Consider bullying as a case in point.

The lasting impact of bullying on a child is magnified when it occurs both at school and within the confines of their own home.

As a adult who has endured such experiences, I instinctively built walls and adopted a defensive stance towards everyone I encountered.

Things took a turn for the worse when the incident occurred at a former workplace more than ten years ago.

I have a deep understanding of how individuals can find themselves on the wrong side of the law as a result of unresolved childhood trauma resurfacing in their adult lives.

I wrestled with dark thoughts and harmful intentions, but a higher power prevented me from acting on them.

Even now, the scars are the only remnants I have to confront. The anger and rage still linger within me, which is why I am committed to ongoing therapy.

I recommend seeking support in navigating those emotions. It may be painful to confront them, but ultimately, you will learn to handle them more effectively and feel at ease in awkward social situations.
