FULL OF CONVICTION
If you have conviction, you have great confidence in your beliefs or opinions.
Growing into a young adult, I found it very hard to live by my learned beliefs as they put many restrictions on my life. The reality is that most of the rules were ideal in a perfect world. I could not live up to trying to be perfect; I would have been eaten alive.
I was never wayward or easily swayed by anyone. Most of the time, I did what I felt was right, and sometimes, I needed to make a better judgement call.
I could never blame anyone for my mistakes, as I was responsible for my decisions. The downfall was that when told not to do something, I would deliberately rebel and do it at whatever cost.
Silly really! I wouldn’t say I liked being told what to do, which has not changed today.
Everyone is born with a conscience, but we choose to acknowledge right from wrong.
I have sometimes felt convicted lately because I have refused to let some of those learned beliefs control my life.
Although I hang on to my values and what is important, I no longer allow old ways of thinking to control my life. I am more open-minded and think outside the box.
A lot out there is not within our vision and is unknown. I believe that angels and demons exist, and we go through a spiritual battle daily.
I believe God is my higher power; I converse with him daily.
I try my best to live a life that is pleasing to him and try not to do any harm to anyone by actions or words. When I retaliate, I pray for forgiveness.
I know I am not perfect, but that does not mean I shouldn’t try to do things right.
I am glad my conscience is clear, but I sometimes feel convicted.
In everything, there must be a balance.
