MAKING GOOD USE OF THE TIME WE HAVE
We take life for granted, assuming we have all the time in the world. Not realising that any day could be our last. We only seem to acknowledge this after we lose someone close to us.
Let us, for a moment, put aside the pleasures and luxuries we obtained and consider our attitudes and behaviours towards ourselves and others.
I finally found a purpose in life and no longer needed to question why I was here. I stopped feeling sorry for myself and used my experiences to encourage others not to give up.
While going through self-pity, I lacked direction and focus, so I became my worst enemy. I spent time dwelling on negative things and was mentally, physically, and emotionally drained.
I won’t dwell on this part of my life as it leaves me feeling angry at myself for all the time I have wasted, locked in the prison of my mind.
Today, I am very much of a timekeeper; every moment must count for something, even when I go through mental and emotional challenges. If I give in to my negative automated thoughts (NAT), I would be better off dead because they will consume me.
I do not take any day for granted; I meditate and pray for a productive day when I wake up.
TOMORROW IS NOT PROMISED
Life has its daily challenges; I am very impatient and end up angry and irritated by the attitudes of others. I have since learnt to accept them as they are.
Some selfish, self-centred people don’t care who they harm if they can get what they want.
I feel for the vulnerability of others trapped in a relationship of opinionated ignorance and demanding controlling behaviours.
DON’T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU HEAR; IT IS NOT A FACT
I used to believe that if you lived a selfless, godly life and were an asset to people, you would never suffer in death.
When I lost my Beloved Father to cancer and saw his pain, I realised that even the best of us suffer till the end.
I have had friends that lost their lives from suicide, accidental deaths and terminal illness, but I never really understood the concept of someone dying for nothing.
The most important thing for me is to make peace with everyone. Forgive those who made my life a living hell, admit to my faults, and pray for forgiveness.
WHY PUT OFF TOMORROW? WHAT I CAN DO TODAY
There is no point in holding on to resentments as they bring you down. You will never forget the past but can move on without the burden.
It is frightening to know it is too late to say sorry or right a wrong because of an unexpected death. Just because a person looks fit and healthy does not mean their life can’t be cut short.
Forgiveness is hard, especially when it negatively impacts your life and future. But unless you confront the devil, you will always carry the chains of guilt for the rest of your life. Not a nice way to live; you will always be punishing yourself and try to compensating for your wrong.
I decided to spend the rest of my life living in a way that is pleasing to God and trying to encourage people never to give up or give in.
NEVER GIVE UP YOUR LIFE; NEVER GIVE IN WHEN UNDER PRESSURE.
DO THE THING THAT MAKES YOU A HAPPIER, HEALTHIER PERSON
NEVER A LENDER OR BORROWER BE
The love of money is the root of all evil. It is also the reason for most of the world’s problems.
NEVER BECOME A PEOPLE PLEASER
We sometimes spend our lives trying to please others to feel accepted when we should concentrate on our well-being and finding solutions.
Reconditioning the mind is eliminating any negative behaviours and influences you learned in the past. Finding your voice and searching for the real you, not the one expected by others.
SPEAKING AND LIVING YOUR TRUTH.
LEARN TO LOVE YOURSELF, AND YOU WILL NOT CARE WHAT ANYONE ELSE THINKS OF YOU
“You matter because of who you are. You matter to the last moment of your life.’– Dame Cicely Saunders (Modern Hospice founder)
You are accountable for yourself, so don’t allow anyone to control you. Believe in yourself, and don’t relinquish your morals or values to fit in.
FIND YOURSELF AND BE YOURSELF
Find ways of improving your life so that every day does count.
In everything, there must be a balance.
