SIX WEEKS OF INSPIRATION
The opportunity to voluntarily co-facilitate a course on the subject of happiness for the organisation was truly a gift that I am thankful for.
Week 1 Gratitude
Despite facing mental health challenges, I choose to start each day with gratitude for the life I have been given.
Week 2 Self-Care
During the session, the topic of self-care resonated with me deeply.
Struggling with a technical issue, I found myself being overly critical of myself in front of others. It was a reminder of the importance of self-compassion.
Week 3 Relationships
Trauma from my childhood has made relationships and friendships difficult for me. Fear of commitment has held me back, but I am determined to work on this aspect of my life. In the meantime, I chose to listen and learn from others.
Week 4 Resilience
Despite facing the emotional challenge of attending a funeral and delivering a eulogy for a dear friend earlier in the day, I showed up to facilitate the evening course on resilience. It may not always come easily, but I have always found strength in resilience throughout my life.
Week 5 Kindness
Kindness is a word filled with love and beauty. In the past, my kindness was often mistaken for weakness and taken advantage of by others. However, instead of letting this deter me, it only served to make me more aware and mindful of my acts of kindness towards others.
Week 6 Meaning
Discovering the true meaning of my existence has been a pivotal journey for me over the last five years. Through self-discovery books that I have published along the way, I have found a sense of purpose that honors the memory of my beloved late Father.
This journey led me to create Scripture of Balance, a platform where I share my thoughts on challenging and thought-provoking topics every Sunday. My hope is that through my words, others can find their own path to self-discovery and personal growth.
While self-help books can be valuable tools, I believe that true understanding and growth come from first getting to know oneself on a deeper level. Only then can we truly understand the help we need to navigate life's challenges.
The journey from beginning to end evoked a myriad of emotions within me, and I feel compelled to share them openly.
I am grateful to have my Wednesday evenings back, feeling a sense of relief.
There is a tinge of sadness as I bid farewell to the group.
Overall, I feel fulfilled and enriched by the experience.
In everything, there must be a balance.
